Podcast #3 and Notes
Podcast #3
This one is 64kbps rather then 128kbps. Much smaller and easier to download
Danger, Will Robinson, Danger!!!
First off this week many of you Windows XP Users would or should have noticed that windows needed updated this week, if you have windows update set on automatic you should have had it downloaded and installed by now. However, if you haven’t I recommend hitting the Windows Update.
Next both of my favorite spyware removal tools have new versions out. Both Ad Aware and Spy Bot Search and Destroy need to be updated if they already haven’t. The new versions are available at Download.com. With Spy Bot Search and Destroy 1.4 if you haven’t already add the Tea Timer add on. It will let you know all the time what is trying to gain access to your computer.
Family News
I also wanted to let you know that our good friend Melissa Hansen has her webblog/website up , so check that out. From what I hear both she and Doug are having a great time back home with the family.
Speaking of family, Jessica from what I hear is having a great time with here Grandma’s, Grandpa’s Aunts Uncles and Cousins. It has been a strange 9 or so days without her. You know sleeping in, being able to go to a grown up movie, and have a nice quiet restaurant dinner. Don’t get me wrong we sure do miss her, but it is a nice little break from the normal. From What I also hear going shopping with her is quite the experience, LOL.
So while Jessica has been gone, I worked a little overtime on Saturday and Stephanie and I have been able to go to the show. We have went toMr. And Mrs. Smith and Batman Begins at 10:10 (inside joke, LOL). Both were good flicks and worth paying to see. Not much to tell, we are boring people, LOL. On a related note I came home Tuesday and had a hot tub in the back yard. Soon as I figure out how to hook it up it will be sweet.
It’s Geek to Me
Found another tech geek website from Amber Mac a current co-host on Call for Help. She like so many has a weekly Internet Video show called Command-N. Check that out, it is a little different. Also of note one of my favorite Tech Shows Call For Help is available via bit torrent. The bit torrents can be found at CFH Tracker. Of course this was one of the shows canceled when G4 purchased Tech TV. Leo Laporte still hosts, but it is based out of Canada and he tapes a week of shows on one day. Of course to date the show has yet to air in the United States. A good Bit Torrent downloader is Azureus. You just download the Bit Torrent Tracker and it loads itself.
Google Maps is currently in beta. You can search in regular mode and by satellite. Of course the satellite image is not the most current but fun none the less.
I also want to mention Kevin Pereira. At his webblog he recently posted a podcast Attack of the Podcast. In it he goes in to detail as to what makes a podcast and why they are useful.
I did make some minor tweaks to the webblog, not much but if you look you will notice, and through forums I have got some great response about our little blog from others. Which I think is pretty cool.
